Support a great cause while crossing one more name off your gift-giving list, or treat yourself…you deserve it.

Grandmother’s Circle, a program within Adult Probation, is hosting a jewelry sale Thursday, Dec. 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Skyway Level of the Government Center. As an alternative to Sentencing to Service, the program offers female probation clients an outlet to create and sell jewelry, with all proceeds supporting the education of young girls in the village of Homa Bay, Kenya.

If you have outdated or broken jewelry, recycle it at the December sale – the woman in this group love bringing it back to life. For more information about this program, you can email Melissa ToavsJaimee Fofana or view the event poster.

Jewelry Sale: May 2, 2018

When: Wednesday, May 2, 2018: 7:30 am to 2:30 pm

Where: Minneapolis Government Center, Public Service Level

For months, women on probation in Hennepin County have been doing a unique brand of community service. They make jewelry to donate for sale — with all proceeds going to benefit Grandmothers Circles in Kenya.

It’s a win for women in both communities — and for anyone who stops by to purchase the absolutely gorgeous jewelry they’ve made.

More Pop-Up Craft Fairs Planned!

There are plans, and hopefully energy, to have monthly Pop-Ups at different locations around the Cities. We’re planning to feature St. Patty’s Day in March, Earth Day in April and whatever strikes our fancy for the rest of the year.

If you’d to help us to host an event in your neighborhood, please check out a location and let Karleen know ( if they’d be willing to let us set up for 3 or 4 hour sale. It would be a great way to help support Grandmother Circles.

Spring 2016 Jewelry Sale Report

$1,290 Raised!

Thanks to everyone who came and purchased handcrafted jewelry made by Our Hennepin Circle! The support and enthusiasm for our mission was incredible.

By working to connect marginalized women in Hennepin County with marginalized women in Kenya, we help advance social, economic, and educational justice for women in both communities.

Funds raised will be used to replenish a small emergency fund and to provide scholarships for girls to attend secondary school in Kenya.
